Looking to the Future
Along with networking events and chances to enter the Southland Westpac Business Excellence Awards, there are many exciting changes taking place in our region over the next month with a new regional agency, the Southland Regional Development Agency (SRDA), set to come into effect on 1 July 2019.
With a broader group of stakeholders, the agency is tasked with encouraging Southland's future prosperity and will build upon the work previously carried out by Venture Southland, with business support services transferring to the SRDA.
We'll look forward to sharing more SRDA information with you soon but in the meantime check out the opportunities available to your business below!
Lunch with Otago Southland Institute of Directors

The latest tourism numbers
The Southland Tourism Key Indicators for December 2018 have been released!
With data collated from a variety of sources and broken down by Territorial Local Authority and Regional Tourism Organisation, highlights for the latest report include:
- Total tourism spend up 7.3% to $663 million
- Increase in international guest nights - up 9.7% to 738,244
- Increase in domestic guest nights - up 3.5% to 475,065
